*FINAL SOLUTION* - Restart if changing any Timer options. ---------------------------------------------- No need for SC Engineers to read this, but I thought it might be helpful for other users: Spent weekend trimming charts studies, chart update times, global cursor off, 1TICK > 10sec intrday storage, removing continous contracts, removing TPO etc etc, tried new drivers, disconnected mouse, different mousee, with/without OPEN GL, various different settings and so on.. Nothing worked, even global 10sec updates. I feel like a total muppet for not realising, but the problem all along was that I was tinkering with the Global Update Intervals each time to test OS Timer ON vs OFF, and it was this that re-introduced the micro-glitch cycle that made the chart movement and mouse movement laggy. As long as I dont touch anything under the Update intervals after a fresh startup (I think perhaps it's only toggling the OS timer that causes a problem), it stays just fine. So, I recommend restarting Sierra Chart after changing any of these Timer Settings. Also, I would recommend using the improved Timers by disabling the OS Timer and using Timer Management, as they seem very good indeed. It keeps the price updated properly (whatever ms chart is set at) and frees up CPU resources (although this was never my problem) compared to OS timer. |
