to sierrachart engineering team: no matter what fixes you implement present day, there is no guarantee that a different problem won't cause datafeed problems like this in the future. for large professional traders, datafeed hiccups like this could cost tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses. i understand your desire to get rid of datafeed support for rithmic (which you recently attempted but walked back) and cqg (which you already did for cme+eurex), but would you entertain the idea of allowing users to receive cqg data for cme as a backup feed if and only if they've already subscribed to denali's cme datafeed? so basically, users can get cqg's cme data as long as they've already signed up and are paying for denali's cme data? that way, you won't be losing revenue to other non-Denali datafeeds so there's no financial loss for you and users are also safer since they have a backup feed in case denali starts malfunctioning. it's a win-win for both parties. heck, if you want to make it more financially compelling for you, you can also just limit it to users of the highest package tier. after all, paying a extra 20 bucks/month or so to gain the capability of a backup datafeed is nothing in comparison to the possibility of losing tens of thousands of dollars when denali datafeed stops working and there's no backup feed. |
