when the new timer update rolled out... moderate to heavy load chartbooks/instances experienced light lag to complete stuttering and freezing charts that would need to force shutdown the pc. I have a similar high spec pc as you, but I run about 100 detached charts, for es/nq/cl/bonds/currencies.. The PC was not the problem. Pre and Post timer versions it was night and day difference. Many people rolled back. The duration of the update interval was mostly the problem. - Many people don't like the idea of having slower updating highertimeframe charts that are off by 1-2 seconds ( depends on how big the chartbook is ) - Or you have to move your chart to a standalone instance ( and lose global crosshair functionality) - similar to what SC recommends for DOMS - To be in their own instance ( not many people follow this ) Studies that compile aggregated information over weeks/months need tick aggregation for volume profiles/market profiles this was another big reason why there was problems. Go into the chart settings - performance tab and view how much time it's taking to interact with the chart. Adjust studies. Yeah gpus fans aren't going to spin, trading isn't a heavy load. Just need the resolution output for max amount screens. Glad you like your computer. Dont skimp out on a power protector. Also get to know your circuit / fuse amperage and be cautious of running too many electronics on the same circuit. The power supply will undervolt. |
