Monday we received this notice, of emergency maintenance: Dear SierraChart,
This notice is being sent to notify you of the following Emergency Demand Maintenance Event on the Crown Castle Fiber network. Location of Work: Lansing, MI Scheduled Start Date & Time Scheduled End Date & Time Time Zone 1/7/2025 12:00 AM 1/7/2025 6:00 AM Eastern 1/6/2025 11:00 PM 1/7/2025 5:00 AM Central 1/6/2025 10:00 PM 1/7/2025 4:00 AM Mountain 1/6/2025 9:00 PM 1/7/2025 3:00 AM Pacific 1/7/2025 5:00 AM 1/7/2025 11:00 AM GMT Expected Customer Impact: Service Affecting Expected Impact Duration: Up to 4 hours Work Description: A Crown Castle Fiber partner carrier will be conducting an emergency maintenance at the above-listed location for a mandatory cable relocate. Your circuit(s) will be impacted during this emergency maintenance window as indicated below. We apologize for any resulting inconvenience and assure you of our efforts to minimize any service disruption. As we said, we are working to get a backup circuit in place or other backup option (like servers at another data center in the greater Chicago area). We have been looking at all of the options and this takes time because we have to work with other service providers and some of the questions we have, and configurations required, the answers to these questions takes time. Most likely we will be getting another 100 Gb Wavelength circuit, over to a Digital Realty Franklin Park data center. We preferred this better than a 10 Gb circuit over to NY4 because if the main circuit goes out we want to have efficient capacity to carry all of the feeds. We do not want to rely just on 10 Gb. Another possibility is a 25 Gigabit layer 2 point-to-point circuit also over to Franklin Park. We expect one of the above to be in place by the middle of February.
