The only way to ensure that you are not using your live account is to check the "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Main Settings >> Current Selected Service". If this is set to "SC Data - All Services" or one of the "Trading Evaluator" services, then you are NOT trading with your live account, nor can you.

Separately, in that second installation you refer to, you do NOT want to set the option for "Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds" to "No". That should be set to "Yes", so you get the real-time data into that installation. The only reason to set it to "No" is if you are using a completely separate computer and you do not want to pay a second set of exchange fees. If you do change that item, then make sure you select "File >> Reconnect" to reconnect to the data feed and update the data you are receiving at that time.
