Hello I’m hardcore backtesting for a month with SC version 2700. All good. As of 29. November 2024 the current version on the SC website changed to 2711 so I did the update. On version 2700 and earlier I did backtest: - Backtesting one day of tick data - Single SC instance running on the computer - Single chart - Calculate at every Tick - Speed 100000 as suggested by SC in “Replay Back Testing – Automatic“ - Global Chart Update Interval in ms: 250 (default value). The last two days I did test with 100ms. Still all good. - Trade Activity Log Window is open - Time & Sales Window is open - Trade Orders Window is open I was able to interact with SC in steps of 3-5 seconds. Chart, TAL, T&S and TO Windows got updated in steps of 3-5 seconds. I’m aware this has to do with the high speed of 100000 and I’m fine with it. Backtesting with version 2711: - Global Chart Update Interval in ms: 250 (default value) - The Chart Window is the only one updating constantly - No Updates on Time & Sales Window at Speed > 30 - No Updates on TAL Statistics or TAL Trades Window at Speed > 30. When the Backtesting is done the TAL Window gets populated. The outcome/numbers seem to be the same. - No chance to stop the Backtesting at Speed > 60. As long the Backtest goes on there is no chance to interact with SC. - The Backtest on SC version 2700 took around 3 Minutes 20 Seconds. In SC version 2711 it takes the same amount of time. I’m okay with the TAL, T&S and TO Windows not getting updated at elevated speeds. At speed of 100000 you can’t grasp all information you get. But at least you see something is going on. From time to time it happens to start a Backtest with the wrong study parameters. Till SC version 2700, stop the backtest, change the study parameters, start backtest. With SC version 2711 I need to wait for 3 minutes and 20 seconds or I kill SC via Task Manager. I’m honest, I kill the SC Instance. I switched back to SC version 2700 and I’m backtesting as usual. Kind Regards. |
