We think you are not understanding how the Configurations work. If you have a tool button, that just selects a tool, then that tool will use the last selected configuration. This is true for all tools, including the Drawn Volume by Price tool. Therefore, if you want a Drawn Volume by Price that is a "Standard" configuration and you have not defined a specific configuration for this, then you would need to ensure that you had a configuration selected for that tool that did not have a Study Collection associated with it. The other option, as you are point out, is that you can have a customized button that defines the "standard" configuration that you want and then not have to think about what configuration is selected when you want to use that tool.
