Sierra Chart uses a very simple call to the Windows Operating system to play a sound file. If you are properly selecting a sound file and selecting the "Test Sound" button on the "Global Settings >> General Settings >> Alerts" page and not getting any sound, then the issue would have to be something in your operating system setup. You can also try to play the sound using another tool, like Windows Media Player. The files are located in the "AlertSounds" folder under you main Sierra Chart installation folder (typically C:\SierraChart, but may be different). The files are standard .wmv files. If you do not get a sound, then you need to look further in the reason why. Even if you do get a sound with another tool, you would still need to work through the Operating System issues with sounds to get the sound to play out of Sierra Chart.
