Sounds like a crappy ISP.

Despite having Verizon FiOS and a 1G connection, there are times when I experience intermittent outages. A momentary outage will freeze your charts, because the data stream is disrupted. Initially, I thought it was the computer's memory and CPU being pegged. But, I noticed something peculiar-- when the trading platform would freeze, my Remote Desktop connection to another home computer would also break (I have multiple monitors). Then, that's when I learned it's wasn't my computer or trading platform. It was my crappy ISP.
