Zayo is one of the peers with the Internet from the 123.net data center that we use in Michigan. Your friends ISP is routing data over Zayo. Your ISP is routing it over Cogent. See if you can change to a different ISP if Cogent is giving you trouble but Cogent is not necessarily bad in this case. This is a trace, to DS32 from one of our servers in Germany.
