Hello Sierra Users, Sierra Chart has brought to my attention that some of the users have experienced some difficulties when trying to login to our demo environment. Below are the instructions in order to resolve the permission denied issues.

Let's use this thread for any questions you may have about www.OptimusFutures.com and Rithmic data.

Resolving a ‘Permission Denied’ error when trying to login to a Rithmic demo

There are a few different reasons a user can receive a ‘Permission Denied’ error when trying to login to a Rithmic demo including but not limited to:

1. The user has no completed the Rithmic Market Data Agreements and Self-Certification Process.

  Every Rithmic user must complete this process before they will be able to login to any platform. To   complete this process please use these instructions below:

  Please follow the steps below:
  1. Download & Install R Trader from the following link: https://rithmic.com/rtrader.msi
  2. Launch R Trader and enter the demo username and password that was emailed to you.
  3. For the ‘System’ field, please choose ‘Rithmic Paper Trading.
  4. The agreements will pop up in a new window, please double click on each of them and agree or    certify yourself as either Non-Professional or Professional.
  5. Once these both appear as green and accepted you should be able to access your trial. You may    close and uninstall R Trader at this point if you wish.

2. The user’s machine has been flagged as having a previous Rithmic demo.

  Rithmic demos are limited to 30 days per exchange guidelines on providing live, streaming data. If   you have used a Rithmic demo previously you would not be able to login with a new Rithmic demo   username.

3. The ‘System’ is set incorrectly.

  For demo users please choose ‘Rithmic Paper Trading’ for the System field. Rithmic 01 is reserved for live users.

4. The user used the PC’s Copy/Paste function.

  If a user users the PC’s Copy/Paste function it can sometimes insert spaces before or after the   username or password which will result in a login failure. Please type these in manually, and use all   upper-case characters for both the username and password.

5. The user did not sign up for a SierraChart account.

  There will be two sets of credentials needed to get started with SierraChart. You will need your Rithmic username and   password as well as a SierraChart account username and password. If you have not signed up for a SierraChart   account, you can do using the following link: https://www.sierrachart.com/RegisterStep1.php

6. The demo period has expired.

7. The username is disabled
