I tend to just type into the chart - the text I type appears in the Window title and then I hit enter and it usually takes me to the symbol.

However, it doesn't work as well as tradingview. Their interface lets you also just type a symbol, but they instantly popup a window and start searching for you and give you a way to select brokers and instrument types (futures/forex/stocks) in order to quickly limit your list. They don't support options like SierraChart, but maybe some day.

I am aware I can go digging into the menu system and open a find window, but I'm used to apps that make typing a first class entry to finding and searching for anything.
i.e. if I type go, it would bring up things like Goto Time from the menu or any tickers such as Gold.

I'm sure you guys know, like Google Chrome's Omnibar where you type anything and it starts working out what you want, could be a mathematical calculation, a document in your history, a bookmark, or a web search.

So when I mean algo, I'm wondering what SierraChart is doing behind the scenes when I start typing into a chart window.

I know if I type 144t and hit enter I get a tick chart. It's that type of functionality I want to see more of. Just type and have the system come back with ideas for me. Perhaps eventually I can put an API key in for GPT or Claude or something and it will be able to give me back suggestions for what I want to do (writing ACSIL, using spreadsheets, combining indicators, finding symbols, giving me lists of symbols and brokers that match my query, locating drawing tools, etc.

Sorry my question wasn't clear. I have lots of these NQTV symbols that do not seem to work right. They assume I want something other than what I typed and as I mentioned above, are not even close, as if they are being limited somehow.
