The issue with the study was that it was not setup to handle the situation where the data was not continuous. With the Swing High/Low study, you do not have data at every point, therefore the values in between are set to zero. When looking for the lowest values, it would return those zeros, so you ended up with no Up Trendline. We have added an Input to the "Automatic Trendline" study for "Ignore Zero Values". Refer to the information for this new Input at the following link: Automatic Trendlines Note that you will have to specifically set this to "Yes", otherwise it will continue to work as it used to. This is necessary in case a trendline is trying to be drawn where zero values are valid. This change will be in the next pre-release (v 2637).
