You don't have enough RAM. Parallels splits the RAM between Windows and the Mac OS. So you probably only have 4GB for each. I looked up the specs for a M1 Macbook Air. It says Apple has soldered RAM onto the motherboard in MacBook Air laptops to make the computers thinner. That's why a MacBook Air RAM upgrade isn't possible. So I think you are stuck with 8GB split between Parallels and Windows. Time for a new PC. If I was looking for a Windows PC, I would opt for 32GB RAM or better.
