Post From: Screen Flickering issue with NVIDIA GPU

I am facing an issue similar to what is described in this old thread: Screen flickering (disappearing/reappearing)

My Old setup had a laptop with a 1080p screen and a 4K monitor- both at 100% scaling. I was using OpenGL + integrated intel GPU with acceptable graphics performance.

I got a new laptop with 4k screen @200% scaling connected to the same 4K monitor @100% scaling. Laptop has an nvidia GPU RTX A2000

I copied the sierra chart folder from the old laptop to the new laptop. When starting sierra for the first time on the new laptop the fonts and graphics were all messed up (blurry / small size), so I used right click on sierra.exe "compatibility" -> "high DPI Settings" -> " High DPI scaling override -> system"

Graphics and fonts look great with this setting.

==========================
The issue:

I have multiple charts open some in the foreground and some in the background. Intermittently for a fraction of a second the chart in the background shows up on the chart in the foreground and disappears again to the background.

I have OpenGL enabled and mapped the graphics settings in windows to use the using dedicated GPU

After extensive troubleshooting I found the following:
- OpenGL enabled: issue happens when using nvidia GPU, it does not happen when using integrated intel GPU
- OpenGL disabled: issue does not happen, but GPUs are not utilized and causing high CPU utilization (from handling the graphics) specially when moving/scrolling graphs

I read in some other posts that AMD graphics has flickering issues on the DOM and hence I opted for the nvidia GPU recommended by sierra chart support.

I want to make use of OpenGL and utilize the dedicated GPU to offload the main CPU and for better graphics experience.

Questions:

- Are there any known issues with nvidia GPUs? Or is there a special setting to avoid this issue?

- Would it make sense to install a fresh sierra chart on the new laptop to pick up the new laptop environment rather than using the folder copied over from the old laptop?
If yes, how will I copy over all the global settings without copying over the font sizes which will appear too small?

Any suggestions are appreciated.
