One of the things to keep in mind is that with any of the scaling options, as soon as you modify the scale up/down the system is going to respect that movement. So you would have to "Reset" the scales to get them back to automatically adjusting based on the bars themselves. The other option is to use one of the "Constant Range" options, which might give you a bit more of what you want, but again, when you manually make a change, you would have to reset the scales.
