My primary instance is DOMs only and I only have 3 open, but compared to a separate test instance that is Rithmic, the DOMs are much less responsive. I think this may be due to the fact that the DTC server is serving the subinstance which has about 15 charts. So, I want to try 1 instance for execution with Rithmic, and 1 for charts with Denali, with them being completely separate.

Thank you for the clarification.

I don't think the difference you notice is due to the sub-instance over the DTC connection. If it was the inverse (DOMs on the sub-instance), it could be.

What might be happening is the sub-instance "weighing" on the primary instance in terms of CPU, thus causing the primary instance to lag. If that's the case, separate instances will be definitely better.

I know this is a controversial issue, but it works for me.
