Do you know what kind of drive you had before? And what the speeds were? That might give me a benchmark. I had a regular HDD. My ssd is 500gb and went with smaller size as I read somewhere bigger capacity ssd comes with slower performance. I would still suggest upgrading internal drive instead of running SC off USB port. It’s good only if you travel a lot (or for routine backups which is what I use for). 500gb is plenty so you might have a lot of garbage from sim trade logs, message logs etc piling up that require some housekeeping. Also scid files keeps growing in size over time so take a look at all those things as well.
