Too often we are being contacted by users and brokers about getting a "permission denied" connection error from the Rithmic system when using a Rithmic demo account from Sierra Chart.

Usually you will receive a "permission denied" error. We cannot solve this. Rithmic demo accounts do not work with Sierra Chart. They are blocked by Rithmic.

Only Live accounts work.

Please do not contact us about connection problems with Rithmic demo accounts. We cannot help with those.

A Permission Denied error can be encountered for other reasons. For more information, refer to step 15 here:

In all cases, we cannot help with "permission denied". We do not understand why Rithmic does not provide a clear description as to the exact reason, a connection cannot be made to their system.

This is one reason why we do not like to use in process API components, which Rithmic uses, and will never use them ever again.
