The way the "Extend Line Until Future Intersection" option works (which is what is used in the "Extend Bar Gap Until Future Intersection" study) is that it will display the label next to the line if there is an intersection, otherwise it displays it in the Values Scale. There is no option to change this, and it is not something we can get to changing any time soon.
