Funny nicktrader. Patience. SierraChart is a great tool and even if these guys sat on their hands, which I do not believe they are doing, they are still better than everybody else.

That said. Like you, I will keep pointing out little things I might like to correct.

Which is why I have also returned to this thread about OHLC.

Besides the request that all objects should be able to be cut at a certain point, the OHLC has some other problems.

1) If looking at historical data and using an OHLC with intersect active to backtest, there is a bit of a "tell" because it will not show the labels and that means there is indeed an intersection coming up. This can affect how you trade. So that problem needs to be fixed. The Intersect feature should show the display like extend does until the intersection candle actually appears. If the OHLC had the typical text options to display text, it would be great because we could tell it to keep the text at left instead of at right.

2) Also, the OHLC doesn't offer a way to set text sizes nor to use the global font.

I use crossover to run SierraChart on a mac and recently I enabled the high resolution mode. This is beautiful and makes the charts less jaggy. However, it also makes the text on my OHLC so small I can't read it except with glasses (must have gotten older - yes time is passing, but I hate pixelated graphics more than the small font for this one tool). All of the other tools use the Global Settings> Graphics Settings -Global > Fonts tab > Chart Text (Global).

I've gone through all of them setting them to Consolas 6 point, but the text appears to stay as Consolas 3 point, which is tiny and readable, but not ideal for my vision.

So, if we could align the OHLC and give it the ability to set it's own font AND to use the global setting AND to allow us to cut it at a future date, that would be terrific.

I've also noticed that some of the tools, when I cut them, change their angle and then I have to use the align to get them aligned with a fork, for example.
I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to give every tool the ability to edit on the Anchors tab where the cut occurs?
And, because the location of the cut may cause the slope to be wrong, if perhaps we could enter the slope and have the system pick an additional point, wherever that needs to be in the future and include that anchor point on the Anchors tab in order that the slope doesn't change? I'm probably getting too technical, but I love the cut feature to keep the charts clean. I just didn't realize how difficult it would be to keep the objects accurate if they only have two anchors and are cut. Here's the example:
take two candle tails with different prices and connect them with a ray. Then cut them at a future date. The ray will change direction. It's because the cut line is now set between the start and end rather than the two tails and then a 3rd point being the cut point. It seems that the objects, because they only have two points to use, much choose an approximate 2nd point, which moves the anchor from one of the tails and therefore changes the slope of the line. So, I think the idea of cutting objets may need some more engineering and may require an additional anchor point. This seems fine to me, because I would also like to set the Anchor point on the line for the text I wish to see. Sometimes I want it on left, right, or somewhere in between. I would like to just drag the text anywhere and have it anchored. So perhaps if we add Anchors for the OHLC so that we have start and end, we can have a cut that works at the end wherever we wish. And for the other objects that have two points already, they would get a start / end and have a cut added so that they draw using start and end to create the slope and then the cut to end the display of the object on the chart.

Thanks guys. Hope these notes help you.
