Would be interesting if there was an option to not show the candle until it has closed. Or if the linking would be able to specify a delay of 1 (or more) candles on the linked charts. That way all the higher time frame charts would not show the candle until it has completed its formation. Chart 1: 30 second (if we are moving this bar by bar) Chart 2: 15 min (we want this to not show the last candle until it has closed) Chart 3: 1 hour (we want this to not show the last candle until it has closed) When chart 1 is being moved while Chart Setting: Scroll Position is enabled, it will show a new candle each time you hit the right arrow. Chart 2 and 3, however, will simply hide their last candle until it has closed and then have it appear, if the option is enabled. So that might be one option. Another option might be to blank the candles out on the higher charts while you focus on the lower time frame. Little more difficult because you have to also turn off the vertical axis (Chart Settings>Scale>Hide Values Scale), but even then if you have drawings on the chart, they will sort of give off a "tell" well ahead of time for the 30 second time frame. I think there would be no way to hide this effect with any indicator, etc. So, the only option, unless SierraChart wants to make this work nicely by doing the engineering and adding options/controls to when the candles can paint, and if you are not wanting to use the slower replay mode which doesn't allow easy moving forward and backward, is to make your 30 second chart full screen and hide the other charts until you want to look at them again. So, if you are hunting a trade on a higher time frame, mark it there, then make your 30 second view full screen so that it covers all the higher timeframe charts that are acting as a tell and showing the candles in advance of the 30 second because they paint the candles on open instead of on close. If you setup your chart linking, you can draw in using OHLC Ray or something to allow you to navigate on the lower time frame. I do hope SierraChart will offer a faster replay. Something that would just load what it needs to load in memory, even if you have tons of data on disk an then let you use arrows to move forward or back as easily as the method of just linking the scroll position. Perhaps they could even do something with the linking so that the link is only on close and not on open. Not sure. They know their code best and I think the problem description is pretty clear. Good luck. |
