You need to select File >> New Quote Spreadsheet. To enter data into a cell on a non-CLR Spreadsheet you first need to click two times in the cell to open the edit box for the cell. Enter the data. Press the OK button to save it. When you enter symbols in column A, do not prefix the symbol with a / or #. Just enter the symbol on its own.
