These are indices, as such they are not directly traded, but a measurement of trading activity for a collection of stocks. Therefore, the Volume is going to specific to whatever that index wants to call volume. You would have to look that up for each index to see how they are using it. The US2000 you are using is a CFD, not the actual index from the FTSE Russell. We do not carry the data for the actual FTSE Russell index, so this is the best we have. The other indices you are referencing $DOWI, $INX, and $NASX are the indices from each of those particular groupings.
