If you are doing high-frequency trading, then you would want to have a setup in the Chicago area, perhaps in the same center as the CME Group. That is the only way to ensure that you do not have any lag due to Internet performance. But, even that will only work if you are using automated trading. If you are doing manual trades, then you would still have the same issue of a lag in the screen presentation as it tries to get from Chicago to your location over the Internet.
