@Tin43, I can clearly see the confusions now, and let me try to clarify them one by one: I have a 4 hour difference from new york. I'm not the same as Madrid. I'm asking eh.
Canary Islands and New York are 5 (Five) time zones apart, the reason you see 4 hour difference isthat it is already Day Light Saving schedule in North America now, you will see 5 hour difference after Mar. 26th, when Canary Islands starts Day Light Saving, which is 92% per cent of time, this is the difficulty I mentioned in #2. But if i'm in the canary islands, shouldn't I put 13:30 to 21 and 22 to 13:29:59?
Please see the attached image. Please see the attachment, lets say ES or NQ Monday session for example, it starts 18:00:00 New York time on Sunday until 17:00:00 on Monday, and Tuesday session starts from 18:00:00 on Monday, so on and so forth. That means 92% of the time ES session starts 23:00:00 on previous day until 22:00:00 current day your local time. Please be aware that New York Stock Exchange ALWAYS opens 9:30:00 on each trading day, New York time. That is usually 14:30:00 your local time, but there are roughly 8% of time (like we are experiencing right now), it would be 13:30:00 (1 hour early) due to different Day Light Saving schedules. This is very important, because, you almost will never get good trades before 8:30:00 New York Time Another questions. Where do i have to set that? For every instrument is best or there is other way?
There is no right or wrong answer to that question. I am sure there are a lot of traders liketo set each chart different than Global Time Zone, based on each individual instrument. For me, personally, those extra work is totally unnecessary. If I would imagine myself living in Canary Islands, and trading ES, all I have to know that I should get myself ready by 2 PM, and I know there will be no trading opportunities after 10 PM. I don't care what time it would be in New York, because I don't live in New York or Chicago. All I need is just one Global Time Zone in Sierra Chart Again, there is no right or wrong answer, it is totally personal preferences. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-03-12 22:41:38
