What is best practice/quickest recovery of entire Main execution instance in this frozen state?
If you believe the system is in this state because it is calculating studies, then the only thing you can do is wait for the calculations to complete. If you believe that the system is actually "locked up" and not responsive due to some kind of computer glitch, then you would have to terminate the program through the Task Manager (or reboot your system).
