Open the window for Global Settings >> General Settings. Select the page for Alerts at the top. In the second sub-section on this page (named "Sound File") you will find the "Test Sound" button. On the left it just says "(Button)" on on the right it states "[Test Sound]". Click where it states "[Test Sound]" to hear the sound file selected in the line just above.
