This is something that's been present in SC for as long as I can remember. Whenever a Study Price/Overlay from a faster chart is placed on a slower one, it pins at least one core and slows down everything in SC. For example, using 1 minute and 5 minute charts. Overlay one or more studies from the one minute onto the 5 minute. CPU requirement goes way up. If you do the reverse and overlay a 5 min on a 1 min, there is no impact at all. Why is that? There may not be many instances where you want to do this but there are a few - such as visual timing cues on execution charts. |
