There is not a way to show the grid on just the DOM without it showing across the entire chart. The only way that we can think of to make it look this way would be to change the backgrounds of the various parts of the DOM and the grid such that the grid will be the same as the background in the main chart area, but then will show in the DOM since they will have different background coloring.
