Hello: In a trading platform I used to have access to (it was far inferior to Sierra Chart, incidentally), there was a feature where you could highlight a period of time on a chart and get a rate of change for price in that time period. You would highlight an area the same way you would for a Fib retracement pattern. It was like line slope and is used to quantify rapid or slow price change for a given period of time. I can visualize this on a chart but if I change the time scale by compressing or expanding the time scale, I can usually make any slope I want. Getting a numerical quantification of the rate of price change that is independent of how I have the time scale compressed or expanded would be a great thing to have. This would help me in my strategy formulation for trade identification, management and risk. My question is then, does such a thing exist in Sierra Chart? Again, this is a convenience feature because I CAN visualize it as long as I am careful and consistent about my time scaling. I hope this is clear enough for you. Thank You Dennis Lombreglia |
