The exact symbol you need depends on what your Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Current Selected Service is set to. Each vendor uses a different symbol. This is why we have the File >> Find Symbol window, to allow you to find the correct symbol based on how your system is setup.

Just to let you know, Crude Oil is traded on the NYMEX exchange and Silver is on the COMEX exchange. If you open charts for these, you will only get the delayed streaming data, as you are not setup to get real-time data for these exchanges. For the CME Group you only have the CME Top-of-Book exchange active. You can change your exchange selections at the following link:

Just keep in mind that exchange fees are not pro-rated, so you will pay the full amount for the remainder of the month whenever you activate an exchange. So you might want to wait until the beginning of next month to activate any new exchanges.
