Yes, we see this occurring. The only thing we can say for sure is that it is related to the underlying code for the study and that it can not handle more than about 1.5 million bars. The simple solution is to not use the study on that many bars. If necessary create another chart with fewer bars on it and apply the Zig Zag study on that chart.
