@FTS3, I've noticed the following when using the parallel ray tool:

1) As mentioned in post #3, disabling "Adjust Tool Values To Tick Size" helps minimize/eliminate the offset that can occur when the cut algo interpolates the location of the new anchors.
- enabling "Auto Snap On Creation" and "Auto Snap On Adjust" helped work around no longer being able to easily access the tick levels when drawing

2) If the end of a line that's been cut is beyond the edge of the chart (not visible), the shift can be quite surprising. Said another way, make sure both lines are visible at the vertical cut edge.

3) The 180 degree 'flip' occurs if the cut is too close to the rightmost anchor. I use a keyboard shortcut (EDIT > UNDO CHART DRAWING: CTRL + ALT + Z) to reinstate the original drawing & then try again.
