I really like using Sierra Chart for charts and executing my trades directly from the charts. Now, Sierra Chart has set up their own Denali Data Feed that is connected to the CME Exchange and also has set up their new Teton Order Routing Service. In order to use this new system I had to research the recommended clearing firms and affiliated brokers before opening a new account.
Sierra Chart is urging the users to participate in Denali and Teton to improve the trading experience. What I will really appreciate is to be able to have my bracket order oco placed at the exchange servers.
In order to keep using Sierra Charts I decided to open up a new account with one of the 3 recommended clearing firms ( Advantage, Philips Capital or Dorman )and pick out a recommended broker (Stage5 Trading or Edge Clear)
After about 2 weeks of research I chose Advantage/Stage5 based on my account size, commission cost, margin requirements, and reputation of each company based on the feedback from other traders.
The futures account setup with Advantage was about the same as other brokers. Byron from Stage 5 Traders sent me emails containing the setup instructions to follow and the whole process took a couple of days.
I had a problem sending a wire transfer while at the bank so I called Byron at stage 5 and he walked the bank clerk through the process of filling out the questions on the wire transfer.
Ok, so now I am setup and happy with the results. Everything is working as it should and that is a nice experience.
