Are the alerts working properly apart from just not getting the audible information? If this is the case, then refer to the information at the following link: General Settings Window: Troubleshooting for Alert Sounds That Do Not Play If the alerts are not working at all, then that is a different issue, in which you will need to look into what is occurring with the alerts and if there was some change.
