You are trying to open a chart for $VIX, which is the VIX S&P 500 Index. That particular symbol is part of the CBOE Exchange. You are not getting any data (including any historical data) as that symbol does not allow any historical data unless you pay for it. So what you are seeing (or not seeing) makes sense.

You signed up for data from the CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE), which is different. You have access to the VIX Futures with the CFE exchange that you have activated. To find those symbols, open the Find Symbol window and go to the Futures - CFE listings.

If you really want the Index and not the futures, then you would need to deactivate the CFE exchanges that you have selected and then use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and activate the CBOE Indices exchange. You will find the Setup Instructions for the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed at the following link:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#SetupInstructions

Just so you are aware, we can not issue any refunds for the exchange that have been activated. Those fees go to the exchanges themselves, and they do not give any refunds.
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:
