The free month of the data feed has nothing to do with live account or demo account. The exchange does not know anything about that aspect. But, what is important is the requirement to have a live, funded, futures trading account in order to qualify for the non-professional exchanges. To make that qualification, you do need to have a live account. A demo account will not work to make the verification.
