I spent some time researching alternate brokers from https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/OtherSitesLinks.php#Brokers. Based on that I chose Discount Trading. My experience with Meagan and the team over at Discount Trading (BTW I have zero affiliation) was really positive. Support, setup, install, and trading this past week was super smooth. I traded a few hundred contracts and it was flawless. Pros: They answer the phone, 20+ yrs in business, Ironbeam FCM, Multiple Order Routing Services, Very Low & Customizable Margins (https://www.discounttrading.com/margin.html), Low commissions, Excellent customer service, Fully functioning backend customer web portal (balances, trade, funds, etc). When discussing my trading needs, they mentioned a recent influx of SC customers, some having installation problems/questions around Rithmic. I mentioned I'd document the install, setup and experience here for others. Sierra Chart - Hopefully you don't mind, Important to me and assuming many others. I discussed your upcoming CME Direct Routing along with the recent TT/CQG issues. They were very interested in offering this and will be discussing at their next management meeting. I know much work needs to be done but it looks like you have an interested broker that is super easy to work with. Installation & Setup Notes: 1 - Setup account at Discount Trading in my case I'm using Rithmic for order routing & SC Denali Feed. 1a. No additional data fees at DT just commissions, exchange & Rithmic/Order routing fee per trade. 2 - DT will provide a username / password to access their Website, Firetip (real-time account info/trading), and Rithmic/rTrader. 2a. Download Rithmic/rTrader if you want to reset your password. 2b. It appears rTrader propagates password changes down to DT website & Firetip. 2c. If you change it on the website or Firetip it may not propogate up to rTrader then you will have to call support. 2d. The password you use for Rithmic/rTrader is the username/password combo you enter in Sierra Chart > Data/Trade Service. 3 - Install the Rithmic Bridge Files here Rithmic Bridge Files 4 - In Sierra Chart -> Global Settings -> Data/Trade Service Settings -> <Rithmic Trading> Set your server, username & password and you are done. 4a. SC auto-launches the DTC Rithmic Bridge app in the \Rim folder to make the connection. Cheers |
