In order to color the Fill Space, you actually have to color the background behind the bars and then set the "Chart Background" color to what you want for the fill space. To change the background behind the bars, use the "Color Background Based on Alert Condition" study and set the alert to "=1". Then set the Subgraph color as you want for the primary background.
