Thanks for reply, it seems the situation is not so obvious. I am not sure and do not know which calculation is correct. You certainly did more research on it than I did and I accept your opinion.

The things is that opening at extremes like -+1000 etc occurs on big gaps between today's Open and previous day Close. This is logical for me, most of the stock opens on negative tick in case of downside gap. And this has lots of value in it, for instance, first test of zero line;, how long TICK holds below/above the zero line, if price follows or got rejected given extreme tick. For traders it is important and this is not my idea, I see this analyse on twitter between traders every day and never heard an opinion that it should open around zero.

I am not expert in this and do not know specific technical explanation, but I think this should be discussed more even with traders and possibly other providers of datafeed and why they are calculating it differently. As a trader who acutally using it, my opinion is that I don't find edge in this type of calculation of the open.
