The CME Group has a requirement that in order to qualify for their Non-Professional Exchange Fees, you need to have a funded futures trading account. If you do not, then you have to pay the (much) higher Professional rates. Due to recent changes, you would be setup with CQG as the trading service and you would need to connect to that account at least once a month. We will be working on this to make it more automated, but this is the current solution.
