How often should this be done? Seems awfully time consuming to do daily. One would think they could have a backup data option in the menu that selects all these files and copies them to a folder of your choice.

The question was understood (at least by me) to be: "How do I copy my setup from one PC to another?". You don't need to repeat the entire process to keep working on both PCs, even if it accomplishes what you want.

The application software will be updated when you decide to do so, and the data feeds will of course update themselves on each system. If you want to keep the chartbooks in sync as you make changes to them, then there are a couple of things you can do.

1. If just a few chartbooks, you can email them to yourself, or use a thumb drive, etc.

2. If the two computers are on the same network, you can use Map Network Drive to make each PC's data folders visible to the other. This way you can copy and paste the changed files, or periodically copy all .CHT files, skipping the ones that match. You can also use the Folder button in the Sierra File>>Open Chartbook and File>>Save As dialog boxes to do one at a time.

If you want to keep other global settings in sync, the documentation tells you which files have which settings. For example, if you change the Control Bar the sierra4.config file has the settings for versions 2207 and up.

You don't need to copy .SCID or .DLY files, even though they change all the time. The data feed will update them automatically.
