If you are looking at the difference between 16:38:30 and 16:38:35 in the time and sales window, this is nothing unusual. There were just simply no bid/ask updates transmitted by the exchange. And if there was no reconnection at the time and you would know because you would see Downloading Historical Data displayed on the chart, then this is just totally normal. There simply is no problem here as we suspected. And what you describe about the countdown timer is also perfectly normal. Why would you expect the market to trade every second.
