Thank you for reply. However, its definitely not hardware related and I've already been through the suggested topic when I upgraded everything at the beginning of the year. All PC's are now at least i7 9700 + fast RAM and M.2's etc etc. I can watch the issues via the resource monitor and its the compressed chartbook that is causing the issues. The backup chartbook can be opened and then re-saved in it's new compressed format without issue so that confirms hardware is fine. I am still concerned as to whether its compression related and as the loss of a chartbook after even a few days would be a real nightmare I've written a bat file to backup all compressed chartbooks on a daily basis. Is it at all possible for compression to be a user choice and/or after further consideration and the removal of hardware failure from the equation, can you think of any situation that might have caused compression/decompression corruption?
