Thats fine.
May I suggest that how chartbooks can be made backward compatible be described somewhere on your site besides the Whats New page.

As described in the original post, I was asking about compatibilty in order to isolate an unrelated issue.
Luckily I have been able to do that without regressing to an earlier version.
The issue was a repeatable application hang, here is the Windows message log:

The program SierraChart_64.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.
Process ID: 45f8
Start Time: 01d63fc2316e9796
Termination Time: 38
Application Path: C:\SierraChart ftc combo\SierraChart_64.exe
Report Id: efc226c3-8176-400a-8879-e251d1d466c4
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:
Hang type: Unknown

It's believed the issue was created by the email-upon-alert feature.
SierraChart_64 consistently hung once an alert was expected,
that was setup in a trade study's column-based alerts at the Setting and Inputs tab.
It appears the email was sent consistently also, if that helps.

Another observation was that the email address was able to be removed and the emails continued.
I'm not certain if there is an array of addresses mapped, and then displayed, per each alert #.

That is the total of the observations I was able to do.
good luck :)
