Your conclusion is not entirely correct, the price format you see is what is used by Barchart and their historical Daily Price data which we use in this particular case. This is not something we are going to change. likewise with CME Futures Options when data/trade service is set to SC Data-All Services, the default numbers for price display format, tick size, historical price multiplier, and real-time price multiplier are all wrong.
