When you are doing back adjustments, as time goes by, the prices will change for a particular date and contract month. So you do not want to do any back adjustments of the data. For example, the current Oat contract will have unadjusted prices but 10 years from now, if using back adjustments, it will have a very different price with all of the back adjustments applied cumulatively.
