Not sure what you mean by the "...Compact Tool Values Window thing didn't do anything." But there is another option which it sounds like you are really looking for. It is just a matter of setting up the Horizontal Line tool to display the price. Select the Tool Configuration for the Horizontal Line Tool (Tools >> Tool Configs >> Horizontal Line) and then select the Label tab and enable the option for Price and then save the configuration and close the window. From that point forward, as long as you are selecting the Horizontal Line and that configuration is the one selected, then you will get the price displayed.
