I can only load my chartbook if I delete all data and download

We do not see how this has any relevancy unless it is related to what is documented here:

I'm guessing my issue will be the fact that my chartbook was made with a previous version of Sierra
No, this is definitely definitely not the case at all. This is definitely not the problem.

I fixed this with a fresh installation of Sierra and copied over my settings from the previous install.
We do not know why this would make any difference. It does not make sense to us and we would not have recommended that.

We do not see how using OpenGL is related to the problem you are describing. It really sounds like a condition where there are some studies which are taking a long time to calculate. Refer to this subsection:
